Micro Manage

Lately I'm into shirts with ultra thin stripes. Because the stripes aren't immediately discernible from afar, it just looks like a solid with an interesting, unusual texture. A Monet effect? Hardly. When you get up close, the detail is striking. The examples below are pricy, but if you're looking for something special, these finely tailored numbers are a cut above the rest.

Grey mini stripe shirt by Stephan Schneider, $256 @ South Willard. It almost looks like linen.

Superfine stripe detail.

Veronique Branquinho's black stripe shirt, $280 @ South Willard. I love the placement of her tiny logo (right side, lower third).

Detail.

At a (slightly) lower price, Band of Outsiders offers a mini engineer stripe tee, $205 @ South Willard. Looks like a very pale blue from a distance, but a closer inspection reveals pencil-thin stripes.

  1. these shirts are great.. but check out the new tuxedo shirts posted on artfulwears.com!! Tuxedos are definitely Not just for formals anymore! check out the Tuxedo Tee Shirt By Majestic! You can have the look of Tux in a tee shirt. It’s a soft and luxurious blend of cotton and cashmere; so it not only looks good, it feels good too. We think it’s a subtle basic with a very unique twist.

Choose from white or black. We love the great versatility of this tee shirt. Pair it with a great skirt, under a suit jacket, or dress it down with jeans.

Please don’t get confused, it’s not black tie appropriate
