My theory about a summer of bad menswear yielding an autumn teeming with good taste seems to have been proven true, if the Wings + Horns Fall/Winter '10 collection is any indication of what's to come. Among its offerings, I've found more than a few covetables to stalk. I've got my eye on the coats and jackets in particular, which are rich in texture and feature interesting design details without drowning in excessive doodads. If I were a dude, I'd be wearing the heck out of this snuggly hoodie right now. Made with Polartec, it provides extra warmth without the weight. I'm not really sure what that means, but it feels pretty damn "polar" outside, so it's probably solid. Girl version, please?

Once upon a time, I had a major thing for 70's-inspired athletic looks, perhaps due to the influence of a father obsessed with the tennis stars of the era, whose weekend attire seemed to channel a Pakistani Björn Borg. In addition to an affinity for off-white polos, headbands, and sports goggles, I developed a particular weakness for a good track jacket. Though the vintage track jacket has been revived a few times, I've winced at these new incarnations, as they tended to be festooned with too many extra flourishes, and found their overtly retro look to be tacky. It was refreshing to discover these two clean, classic styles from toddland.

Gone are the days of baggy jeans that hung dangerously low on the hips, drowning the wearer in their tent-like enormity. The fact that men’s denims are cut much slimmer these days is, in my opinion, a good thing, but as we’ve discussed before, it presents a young man with a new set of challenges . In response to the silhouette du jour, briefs (or “manties” as they are known in some circles) have made a major comeback. While this combination may work on a comfort level, a boy must always be aware of his behind when sitting, as it has a tendency to put one’s crack on view. A simple solution: cover your ass (pun intended) with shirts that are cut a bit longer than you'd normally wear.

Whether it's thick, medium, or skinny stripes that strike your fancy, Vince has mastered the art of the striped sweater to perfection. Long weekends are a beautiful thing, but they make it that much harder to get moving when it’s time to head back to work. Especially when you wake up to one of those grey mornings that seem permanently suspended in the moment just before sunrise, the sky never quite lighting up enough to convince you it’s time to start the day. Somewhere in a parallel universe, a luckier version of me is enjoying a warm, delicious shower, piling on several cozy sweaters, and basking in the feathery softness of my bed. With hot tea, my boyfriend, and a movie, probably. Ugh. Lucky bitch.
