Shake and Bake

I don't even cook, but here's something that's sure to get me into the kitchen: Salt and pepper shakers in the form of maracas. How fun! Designed by Naoto Fukasawa and available through the London Design Museum Shop, £ 29.95.


That headline just called to mind a crazed sports fan I used to see at a childhood friend's indoor soccer games. One of the teammate's mothers was a tiny, enthusiastic Filipino lady who spent the better part of most every match violently pounding on the plexiglass with both fists, screaming in accented English, "SHAKE AND BAKE, BABY! SHAKE AND BAAAAAKE!"
