Meet Johan

J.Lindeberg has a little brother. The designer recently launched a slightly more youthful, supposedly edgier line called JOHAN. What is with designers lending their first names to their diffusion lines (Marc by Marc Jacobs, Sonia by Sonia Rykiel, Miu Miu, etc)? Is it part of an effort to convey that the line is supposed to be younger, less formal and more accessible in feel?
