Pencil Yourself In

It's hard to find a good pencil skirt. As the name implies, the ideal shape should be slim and streamlined, but too often, a poorly crafted one just seems to emphasize a woman's bumps, lumps, and wobbly bits. Here are two road tested options that'll make you look more svelte than stuffed.

This is a sleek little high-waisted pencil skirt from 12th Street by Cynthia Vincent, $215 @ Rellik.

For a more affordable, casual option, try American Apparel's $30 Interlock version, available in a variety of colors.
