F-Troupe for Fall

The prospect of dusting off last fall's battered boots isn't exactly thrilling. Lucky for you, F-Troupe has some great new styles that'll bring the bounce back into your step. Two options in black leather:

F Troupe Buckle Strap Heel Ankle Boot, $213 @ Revolve.

F-Troupe Side Lace Ankle Boot, $226 @ Oak.

  1. Hi,

I just wanted to say thank you for staying classy. While every other blogger is channeling Erin Wasson, wearing ill fitting, ripped to shreds denim and baggy tee shirts that look to be stolen from someone who is homeless, you remain gorgeously glam and impeccably tailored. You always offer up the most perfect little dresses and luxe ( without being too over the top) extras. So, thank you so much.

  2. These are terrific, because both pairs are adorable AND utilitarian. I find the overly ornate, pastel-hued cutesy shoes and pieces in my closet usually get admired, then never worn, because they're not practical enough - especially for New York. Black leather shoes - whether in boot, Mary Jane, pump or stiletto form - will never go away!! They're the perfect base point to practically any outfit, especially in the colder fall/winter months.

  3. Thanks, Ashley. I do this for fun and really, really appreciate the love. While there are definitely a few girls I know who can rock the Erin Wasson thing, I personally don't find it appealing either.

  4. Carolyn, would you believe I only own a few pairs of black shoes? One pair of boots, one pair of pumps, and ballet flats. And I'm a New Yorker! I've somehow managed to get away from basic black leather over the years, so I was thrilled to find these online.

  5. Shoptometrist - First reading your reply comment my jaw hit the floor! Only a couple pairs of black shoes! Then I realized a girl could get by pretty well on brown, gray and camel to cover the basic color palette, and it must be fun to mix it up more. I have the opposite problem - ALL my shoes are some shade of black (with some camel) thrown in. Maybe a Shoptometrist Colorful-Shoe special should be in the works, to inspire those of us who are hue-challenged in the footwear department?

  6. I have always wanted to start my own blog, do you have any tips or insight to offer before I start what seems to be a daunting task?

  8. Carolyn, I have a feeling you'll be shocked to hear that most of my shoes are actually quite colorful. My boot collection includes suede plum stilletos and vintage red leather, and my shoes range from electric purple Cavalli pumps to rainbow colored Missoni wedges. I tend to dress pretty plainly -- my daily uniform consists of a simple American Apparel U-Neck tank and skinny jeans -- so my shoes and accessories are where the fun comes in. I have the tanks in a variety of colors (though plain white is my favorite) and I just add jewelry, an eye-catching pair of shoes, and a jacket if it's chilly (don't even get me started on all my jackets). So far, no one has caught on to the fact that I pretty much wear the same thing every day (or they're too polite to tell me). It requires little to no coordination. Reading your comments, however, has inspired me to revisit basic black.

  9. Ashley, it's actually really easy to start a blog. The hard part is keeping up with it. Supposedly the most successful bloggers are those who post frequently and consistently, but it's actually quite time-consuming, and when you factor in a busy work or school schedule and your social life, it's often hard to find time for it. It can be a great experience (as mine has been thus far), but just know that it does require a fair bit of your time. One great thing about Blogger is that it allows you to post-date your entries, so that you can schedule your posts. I'll usually write a bunch at once and post-date them, so that they publish over the course of the week and I won't have to worry about posting content every single day. The only issue I've had with that is that sometimes an item I've posted will sell out before it appears on my blog.

  10. Thank you, Noel. I'm debating whether or not to get them . . .
