The fall season seems to beg for texture. The crisp, brisk autumnal air leaves the tactile senses wanting for something to warm the hands, and the waning light seems to catch on surfaces, emphasizing every feature. The smell of earth acts as an olfactory trigger, kindling an attraction to organic shapes. Visually, I am drawn to deep, rich, earthy tones and my eye lingers on anything that suggests warmth, weight, substance, and comfort.
On a sartorial level, fuzzy boucle, nubby tweeds, and chunky knits seem to satisfy these unconscious desires. Right now, I'm craving this textured cropped cardigan.
Waffle cardigan, $97 @ Pixie Market.
